Multifaceted R&B artist SAAY will be returning with a new era of music this summer, with her single SLOW now out and her upcoming single VALERIE. As someone who had the chance to see her live show “Live In America” in 2024, I’ve been excited to hear new music from her.
SLOW describes the complexity of a relationship, the emotional push-and-pull, heartbreak, and vulnerability, paired with SAAY’s sultry vocals.
SAAY is a Korea-born, globally active R&B artist, singer-songwriter, producer, and creative director who maintains full ownership of her artistic process—from songwriting and vocal production to choreography and performance direction. She first gained industry recognition at age 20, producing Henry’s “Fantastic” as one of the youngest songwriters in K-pop. Her global breakthrough came as the first and only Asian artist featured on a title track from Snoop Dogg’s 20th anniversary album, Algorithm: Global Edition, appearing on “Alright” alongside Redman & Method Man (ft. Nefertitti Avani & SAAY).
Beyond her solo career, SAAY has become a trusted collaborator for some of K-pop’s biggest artists, including EXO Baekhyun, aespa, The Boyz, BoA, GOT the beat, and TWICE. Following a successful U.S. and European tour and the completion of her seven-year contract with Universal Music, she entered a new chapter as the founder of her independent label, TEAMSAAY.
Today, SAAY continues to expand her global presence while maintaining full creative control across music, performance, and visual direction through her independent label, TEAMSAAY. She has also been featured in leading fashion and culture publications, including DAZED Korea, VOGUE, W Korea, MAPS, and Singles. She has collaborated with global brands such as Burberry, Balenciaga, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Jordan, Umbro, and Calvin Klein.
