The official trailer for “The Fall Guy” stars Ryan Gosling (Barbie) as Colt Seavers – a stuntman who has doubled some of the hottest A-list movie stars in Hollywood. When the lead of an upcoming action movie goes missing, Colt is tasked with tracking him down but ends up entangled in a criminal plot. Now, Colt Seavers must use his stuntman skills to keep himself alive.
Helmed by former stuntman turned director David Leitch (Bullet Train), the movie also stars Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place), Winston Duke (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Stephanie Hsu (Everything, Everywhere, All At Once) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train).
The Film Is Based On The Popular 80’s Series
The movie is inspired by the 80’s action series of the same name, starring Lee Majors as Colt Seavers and Heather Thomas as Jody Banks. Majors is rumored to make a cameo in the 2024 film. David Leitch admits to being a fan of the original series and wants to celebrate the stunt community with the film. In an interview Empire, Leitch said:
“What I really wanted to do is highlight how much love and passion there is in the stunt community for making movies. This movie is a love story, but also a love story in terms of making movies. To the stunt community, and all the below-the-line, blue-collar artisans that craft these films that we love to see in the cinema. That’s how we wanted to enter it.”
The trailer is filled with action and a bit of romance as Colt and Jody are involved in a relationship (but they keep it profesh). The chemistry between Gosling and Blunt is sizzling, and their witty banter will definitely deliver a ton of laughs.
