Everyone’s favorite blue alien is preparing to cause chaos on the big screen. In the first trailer for the upcoming “Lilo and Stitch” movie, audiences got a better look at Stitch and some of the aliens in their live-action form. Chris Sanders, the original voice of Stitch, returns to reprise the role.
The animated feature debuted in 2002 and quickly became a household favorite, as the cute yet destructive renegade alien lands himself in Hawaii, meets Lilo, and the two form an unbreakable bond. The upcoming live-action film will debut in theaters on May 23, 2025, and will star Maia Kealoha as Lilo.
Disney’s Second Most Viewed Live-Action Trailer
Just 24 hours after the trailer’s release, it garnered 158 million views, making the “Lilo and Stitch” trailer the second most viewed trailer of any Disney live-action films to date. The trailer quickly reached the trending page on YouTube, as well as the number one spot for trending on Twitter/X. Check out the official trailer here:
The trailer won’t be the only place you’ll find Stitch causing trouble. The Superbowl TV spots shows him running onto the field, crashing into the goal post, and evading the staff who are trying to catch him. Various posters places Stitch into other Disney classic movies like “Snow White“, “Beauty and the Beast“, “Cinderella“, and “Aladdin“, much like the commercials for the animated film in the early 2000s.
