Marvel’s latest live-action series, “Ironheart,” has arrived on Disney+ and features young genius inventor Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne). The series finds Riri returning to her hometown after being expelled from MIT. Unwilling to give up her work on the iron suit, Riri teams with The Hood(Anthony Ramos) and his ragtag team of misfits as a way to fund her work. Unbeknownst to Riri, The Hood has a connection to a mysterious and dark magic.
What Is “Ironheart” About?
Set after the events of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Marvel Television’s “Ironheart” pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Thorne), determined to make her mark on the world, returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins, aka “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos).

How Is “Ironheart” as a series?
While Riri Williams was introduced in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, this series reveals more about her life as a genius inventor and dives into her grief of losing her best friend, Natalie, and stepfather, Gary. Riri is a bit rough around the edges, and this is evident when she interacts with most of the characters in the show. However, with the show shedding light on her trauma, it’s understandable that this is something she will likely have to work through in the show.
While we’ve only got a glimpse into The Hood’s mysterious powers, it’s clear there’s something formidable and sinister at play. Now that the cloak has revealed who’s responsible for John’s death, it looks like Parker will his eyes set on Riri.
Perhaps one of the biggest reveals in the series so far is Alden Ehrenreich’s character, or rather, who his father is. Introduced as Joe McGillicuddy, it appears that this would simply be a person who serves as Riri’s tech supplier and consultant. However, it is later revealed in episode 2 that his father is none other than Iron Man’s former best friend, Obidiah Stane. This reveal could set up the pair to have a similar path to Stark and Obidiah.
