The first official trailer has been released for the upcoming Peacock series, The Continental. Based on the world of John Wick, this spin-off prequel series is set in 1970s New York and follows a young Winston Scott who will later acquire the famed hotel in the John Wick films.
The Continental will star Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant) as Winston Scott, Ayomide Adegun as Charon, and Mel Gibson (Father Stu) as Cormac. The series will offer an inside look at The Continental – a hotel exclusively for assassins. The story will follow Woodell’s Winston Scott as he makes his way to becoming the steward of the hotel. It is said the series would run parallel to the events of the John Wick movies, which could lead to a came by the Baba Yaga himself – Keanu Reeves.
As the series is set in the 1970s, the vibe is reflected in the trailer in filming style, dialogue, and fashion. Just as in all John Wick films, there is plenty of action in the trailer, from elaborately choreographed martial arts to the signature “gun-fu.” The series will premiere on the Peacock streaming service on September 22nd and will be presented as a miniseries, released in three parts.
