The teaser trailer for season 2 of Prime Video’s animated series Invincible has arrived ahead of its return this fall. Mark Grayson and his father Omni-Man go head-to-head in season 1, leaving Mark on death’s doorstep as Omni-Man leaves Earth. The new teaser promises another meeting between father and son, with Omni-Man’s spiteful remark “You should have died at birth.”
Steven Yeun, JK Simmions, Gillian Jacobs, and other voice talents from season 1 will return. The new teaser also lists brand new cast members for season two, including Chloe Bennet, Tatiana Maslany, Ben Schwartz, Phil Lamarr, Lea Thompson, Peter Cullen, and more.
Invincible is based on the comic book of the same name, created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. The story centers around Mark Grayson, a high school student whose father is the most powerful superhero on the planet. The rated-R series received a ton of attention for its gruesome animation and captivating story. As the show’s popularity grew, fans became impatience with its two-year hiatus since season 1. Creator Robert Kirkman addresses the issue at San Diego Comic-Con, “This is an extremely complicated show,” he says. “It’s an hour-long animated series. There are so many characters and scenes. We really had to wrap our heads around how this production was going to be managed.”
Season 2 of Invincible will return to Prime Video on November 3, 2023, debuting four episodes of its 8 episodes for the premiere. The remaining four episodes will premiere in early 2024.
Additionally, a stand-alone episode of Atom Eve is now available on Prime Video to tide over fans until season 2.
