DC Studio Co-chair and director James Gunn took to his personal Threads account to post an image of David Corenswet from the upcoming Superman movie. The director stated that the photo (photographed by Jess Miglio) was taken on set and was “entirely in-camera.” Corenswet can be seen seated in the updated Superman suit, with Metropolis seeming under attack in the background.
Superman will focus on the earlier part of Clark Kent’s life and “tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
The film is slated to premiere on July 11, 2025. The film will also star Nicholas Hoult, Rachel Brosnahan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, María Gabriela de Faría, and Anthony Carrigan.
