Time to buckle up! The Fast & Furious rollercoaster has officially begun construction at Universal Studios Hollywood. The new ride will take over the space that previously housed the Special Effect Show and the Animal Actors Show.
According to Universal Studios, the ride will be “Equipped with a state-of-the-art ride system uniquely created to engulf guests within the dynamic Fast & Furious universe,” and while there are no further details about the ride, it is likely to include new and innovative technology that’s never been seen.
The upcoming Fast & Furious rollercoaster joins the ranks of interactive and immersive rides such as Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge inside Super Nintendo World which opened earlier this year. As the Fast & Furious franchise is a hugely popular Universal Pictures property, there is already a themed element included as a part of the World Famous Studio Studio Tour. “Fast & Furious: Supercharged” takes guests aboard the tram through a 360-degree screen-covered tunnel as they speed through the city of Los Angeles.
The mega movie franchise recently released its 10th film “Fast X” and has so far grossed $702.8 million worldwide, with part two releasing in 2025.
