DC Fandome 2022 Cancelled; Focusing On In-Person Events Instead

Fans looking forward to the 2022 DC Fandome may be disappointed to learn the virtual event has been canceled. In a statement released by WB Discovery, DC Fandome will not resume this year and will instead, focus on in-person events and various comic conventions around the world. During the height of the pandemic in 2020, many in-person conventions were canceled. Studios quickly switched to digital platforms and thus DC Fandome was born. Fans everywhere got to experience the event from the comfort of their home. It was well produced and garnered a lot of excitement for upcoming DC projects.

WB Discovery has released a statement on why DC Fandome will not be returning this year as in-person events return.

“With the return of in person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be able to engage with our fans live at numerous comic-cons around the world and will not be scheduling DC FanDome for 2022.”

Following the announcement of various titles being canceled (Batgirl, Wonder Twins), this decision looks to be another step in the direction of the 10-year plan CEO David Zaslav spoke of.
DC made its return to San Diego Comic-Con this year but aside from new trailers for upcoming films Black Adam and Shazam: Fury of the Gods, the showcase was dull in comparison to previous years. There’s no telling if DC Fandome will return in 2023. Until that announcement, fans have films such as Black Adam and Shazam: Fury of the Gods to look forward to as well as Todd Phillip‘s Joker: Folie á Deux
