Critical Role’s Might Nein Is Greenlit For Animated Series

"The Mighty Nein" greenlit for animated series at Prime Video

Critters rejoice! The Mighty Nein is coming to a TV screen near you – in animated form.

Critical Role has signed an overall multiyear exclusive overall television and first-look film deal with Amazon Studio, the company behind the adult animated series The Legend Of Vox Machina. The Mighty Nein, which is Critical Role’s second campaign, will be the first animated series to be produced under the new deal. The second season of “The Legend of Vox Machina” is currently streaming on Prime Video, with a third season already greenlit. While we don’t have an exact release date for “The Mighty Nein”, it’s still exciting to know we’ll all get to see Caleb, Nott, Jester, Yasha, Fjord, Mollymauk, and Beau in animated form.

“Mighty Nein” will be produced under Metapigeon in partnership with animation studio Titmouse, the same studio that worked on both seasons of “The Legend of Vox Machina”. You can watch the announcement video below:

As a long-time fan of Critical Role, this is very exciting news. The Mighty Nein was played over the course of three years, which means the animated series will most likely have multiple seasons much like Vox Machina. And the multiyear deal could potentially mean other campaigns being developed animated series or films, such as Exandria Unlimited or their current campaign, “Bells’ Hell”. Looks like we’ll get to fully explore the world of Exandria.
