What is “BTS Army: Forever We Are Young” about?

Created by Grace Lee and Patty Ahn, who are ARMY themselves, dives into the passionate fandom that catapulted 21st century pop icons BTS into a global household name. We meet fans at a BTS-focused ReactorCon in Lewisville, Texas, a dance instructor in Seoul who teaches BTS choreography, and fans who’ve been organizing since 2013 to help BTS dominate the charts.

Defying stereotypes of pop fans as screaming teens, ARMY is an inter-generational, culturally savvy, and socially active movement that is as diverse as the world itself. The film captures the powerful spirit of activism and collectivity that make ARMY a symbol of hope and unity in our ever-fractured world.

By Army, For Army

It’s heartwarming to see the earlier footage of BTS performing in the States and how much ARMY showed up for them. It also gives a look into why ARMY go so hard for BTS – how their songs inspire and impact each ARMY differently. Each interview recounted the first time they discovered BTS and the songs that resonated with them. This documentary reveals that it’s not just their music or visuals that attract their fans but it’s also their personalities, their work ethic, and their stance on social issues.

The documentary showcases the power of ARMY and how the fandom came together globally to coordinate their support of BTS, including organizing fan voting for the Billboard Awards in the category of Top Social Artist.
