Rachel Zegler, the star of “Disney’s Snow White,” was in Tokyo earlier today to perform Waiting on a Wish, the first single from Walt Disney Records’ original soundtrack. She was joined on-stage by local actress and singer Sakura Kiryu, who provides the Japanese dubbing voice of Snow White, at Roppongi Hills Arena, where they performed for hundreds of fans who lined the red carpet.
Zegler stunned in a floor-length white gown featuring a familiar design on the bodice—a red heart with a dagger, similar to the one seen in the heart box given to the huntsman by the Evil Queen. A red shawl is paired with her dress to complete the look – a nod at the red cloak Snow White wears in the film.
“Disney’s Snow White,” the live-action musical reimagining of the studio’s classic 1937 film, is a magical music adventure which journeys back to the timeless story with Rachel Zegler in the title role and Gal Gadot as her Stepmother, the Evil Queen. The film opens exclusively in theaters March 21, 2025. “Disney’s Snow White” is directed by Marc Webb, written by Erin Cressida Wilson, and produced by Marc Platt, p.g.a., and Jared LeBoff, p.g.a., with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer.
Zegler won the Golden Globes for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical in 2022 for her role as Maria in West Side Story. Her powerful vocals and performance also earned her a win at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards for Best Young Actor/Actress. After “West Side Story”, Zegler starred in mega-blockbusters such as “Shazam: Fury of the Gods” as Anthea and “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” as Lucy Gray Baird.

While an official video of her performance at the Roppongi Hills Arena is not currently available, Disney has released an acoustic version of “Waiting on a Wish” on YouTube.
Waiting on a Wish is available now digitally on Amazon, Apple Music, Spotify. The original soundtrack of songs from “Disney’s Snow White” will be released March 14. Waiting on a Wish was written by EGOT® winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, with additional lyrics by Jack Feldman.
